In 1786, Jeremy Bentham developed the concept of the panopticon, a building designed to allow a single prison watchman to view all prisoners' cells at once.
The inmates couldn't tell whether or not they were being watched, so they regulated their own behavior.
The panopticon has steadily taken root in our physical and psychological lives. Cameras surround us in our schools, offices, streets, and own homes.
Let the power know that you know they're watching.
